3 Stunning Looks with Just One Eyeshadow Color

Playing with color should be fun, easy and accessible to everyone. That’s something Jo Baker firmly believes. Maybe you only have 5 minutes to get ready. Or maybe you’re new to BAKEUP’s colorful multiverse and you’re not sure where to start.

Here are 3 stunning looks that Jo created using her favorite black mascara and just one eyeshadow color from one of our Micro Palm Palettes (Pastels, Neons and Primaries.)

Look #1 - Complement Your Outfit

One of the easiest ways to pick a color is to pair it with your outfit for the day. If you’re wearing a cool tone (blue, teal, green or purple), then pair it with a warm eyeshadow color (red, pink, orange or yellow.) For this look, Stevie was wearing a cozy, maroon outfit, so Jo paired it with the cool mint shade from our Micro Palm Palette - Pastels

Look #2 - Brighten Up Tired Eyes

If you’ve ever woken up in the morning looking like you actually didn’t get any sleep, this makeup hack is for you! Jo recommends applying a soft wash of the matte white from our Micro Palm Palette - Neons over your eyelids - you can just use your finger, no brushes needed! Then apply a coat of black mascara to your upper and lower lashes. This will instantly brighten and open up your eyes, especially if you pair it with a pale colored top.

Look #3 - Add Unexpected Texture

BAKEUP is all about playing with color and texture on your face, so it’s no surprise that Jo made unconventional use of mascara for this fun, punk look. She picked one color from Alyssa’s outfit - the yellow thread from her Dr. Marten’s - and used it as inspiration. With just the yellow eyeshadow from our Micro Palm Palette - Primaries and a tube of black mascara, she created a simple, gritty statement eye.

And there you have it! How will you remix and recreate these looks on your own? We can’t wait to see what you create. Be sure to tag us @bakeupbeauty and use #BAKEUPwithus when you post to social so that we can share your creativity with the rest of our BAKEUP community.
